My oral deliberation, composing the 7 subjects in the Bar Exam, is now over! What a relief! I can now focus with review for the Bar Exam. I devoted five (5) days preparing for my deliberation. Setting aside for the mean time the review to be at least prepared to face the panelist.

In my preparation for the deliberation, i focused in Remedial Law and Civil law.

I was expecting that my favorite professor in Remedial Law, Atty. Ferdinand Tan, will be one of the panelist and i don’t want to disappoint him nor to receive any bad comments from him. Atty. Ferdinand Tan was my professor in Evidence and Remedial Law Review. So embarrassing to say that he failed me in Evidence, and when I met him again In Remedial Law review, I got nervous because of fear that I will again fail and will not graduate. it was in his subject that I really study harder. i felt somewhat happy when i received a comment from him that I improved so much .

In Civil Law, Atty Hercules Guzman has always been the panelist in that subject. HE was my professor in Succession and I was the only student he passed in that subject, and I even heard that I was also his only student that he passed even in other law schools where he was teaching (though i was not able to confirm it). That’s why he was able to know and recognized me. And the last time our path crossed in Law School, he even mentioned that “here comes my bright student”! OH my Gosh! I should not disappoint him in the deliberation, much more in Succession. Atty. Hercules Guzman is a famous professor, teaching in many Law schools in University Belt, im not sure if he’s teaching in UP

IN my dismay, i was rescheduled, conflicting my Mock Bar schedule in FEU… So I requested The Dean to enlist me in the earlier deliberation and he told me to wait and see If there will be time for me in that date.

Any way, I had my time. After the 6 candidates, my turn was up. In my dismay, Atty. Tan was not there.

Atty Festin first asked me questions regarding Remedial LAw and Criminal Law; next was

ASG Hernandez who asked me in Political LAw, Remedial Law,

Atty Guzman asked me in Civil Law, of course he started in Succession followed by Persons and Family Code;

Atty. Yambot Asked me in Labor Law

Fiscal Formoso asked me in Criminal Law

My deliberation was time pressured… I had to think fast and answer fast, and I did!

I was able to answer most of the question, failed to complete some and failed to answer the other.

What was really made my deliberation worthy was during my deliberation with atty. Hercules Guzman. His First question was in Succession! hahahah. KABOOOM! his first question… “What is the Doctrine Of Relative Revocation”? I stopped for seconds thinking… Yes! I knew it!! hahahha… I was able ti answer it. i think that was the reason he no longer asked me questions in Succession, because the subsequent questions were in Persons and family Relations.

I did well in Criminal Law and Remedial Law… Though it was a relief that my oral deliberation is finally over, though it would be more satisfying if Atty. Ferdinand Tan was there to test me up if i ready to hurdle the bar… especially in Remedial Law.. the highest bearing subject in the Bar Examination…

GOODLUCK TO ME!!

Its been two weeks now where i really can’t find a way to manage my time and find a way to cope up with the pile of review materials that keeps on coming. Conception (Persons and Family Relations, Succession), Prof. Eduardo A. Labitag (Property, Obligations and Contracts), Dean Ed Vincent S. Albano (Special COntracts & Special Problems) and Prof Ramon N. Casanova (LAnd Titles and Deeds). And there are other topics covored by Civil Law. Considering the coverage of the subject matter, I cannot imagine how many materials will be distributed, and will I be able to finished all of those?

I really don’t have time to relax right now, no time to waste, One day is not enough for my target readings, I should be able to read at least 30 pages per hour! damn! at least 300 pages a day! I have not even reached half of it. I know its already too late for me to develop and get used to a proper study/review habit. I really don’t have any of that when I was still in school, i just study, no special strategy whatsoever. I even stopped for the meantime on going to the gym to have more time studying and focus more on my readings, and opted not to go home in Bulacan for the same reason, but I still can’t manage to be productive. And now i am facing this kind of problem, I dunno if i should be thankful that i am experiencing this now in my advance review, and not on my review proper in the Bar exam. I just hope I can find a solution to this …ASAP.

Concentrate. Peace of mind. Time management.

If you have any suggestions, or a inspiring story, feel free to share them.

My Review in University of the Philippines is going smoothly. So far i have learned so many things that i haven’t heard when i was in Law School and THANKS to my Professor in Political Law, Atty. Suarez.

During my review class, I got more excited when I learned that, so far, I passed all of my Subjects, including the most difficult subject Remedial LAw , where majority of the students failed (and i passed too in Commercial LAW, Political LAw, Civil LAw review 2). And now, im still waiting for the result of my Taxation LAw… I hope I pass…

Another thing that made my day so far is my current earning in Adsense $0.75… hahaha what an achievement for me!! hahaha… I’m doing this blogging thing for two months now… Poeple my find it time consuming and waste of time, but for me i’m getting used to this…

I had my final exam in Taxation Review under Atty. Francis Sababan last Sunday, from 6pm to 7:30pm . After a week of reviewing, its time to test what i know and the extent of my knowledge in Taxation. I am an Accountancy Graduate, I have a background in taxation, maybe in theory and in application, but i cannot say though that i have the advantage, because this is quite different from the taxation i learned here in Law School. So, i had to do my best to pass the subject.

Few weeks ago, before our final exam, Atty. Francis Sababan returned to us our midterm exam, and as i said i passed. But that was not an assurance that i should go easy with the final exam, because we had to expect that it would be very tricky and difficult ( knowing Attorney Sababan).

Throughout the review process for the exam, i had to review for taxation in the morning and attend around late noon for Advance review in UP until 9pm. I which i found to be so tiring, i cannot decide which materials to read first. So, with the some help tips of anticipated questions from my brother in the Fraternity, (and other friends) and i gave them substantial lectures too hahahha, the reviewing went smoothly in the few last day before the exam…

After the exam, i found most of the questions somewhat easy, but i cannot rely on that, because just like what happened to me last semester i found the exam easy too but then i failed. BUt this time, my worries was about my interpretation of the law, because Atty. Sababan’s questions are tricky. I just hope i passed it again…. and I hope the Next time I will be seeing Atty. Francis Sababan would be in his pre-week lecture and not in the regular class in taxation Review every Sunday.

This is it, it’s official, I will attend an advance bar review in University of the Philippines. Sad to say, I havent’t read the materials given to me yesterday because I am still busy reviewing for my Taxation Final Exam this coming sunday. It felt like i was back in grade school wherein i was nervous for my first day in Law Review class… I dunno the reason, because i know that there’s no reason at all why i should be nervous, it’s just a review class.

around 2:30 in the afternoon, i left off to school. Rode the LRT off to Katipunan and rode in the jeep going to UP Campus. I arrived around 3:30pm thinking that I still have 30 minutes for the class to start. But to my surprise, I was already late. It appeared that there was a change in schedule., wherein the 4pm to 9pm class was moved to 2pm class to 9pm. I have no choice but to enter and and cope up with the lectures.

After the first break of the 7 hours lecture, I received a good news that i passed my final examination and pass the subject in my Commercial Law Review , i didn’t just got 75, but i got 84 instead!! hahahah . Whew! what a relief! At last! 2 subjects to go.. i hope i passed them too!

University of the Philippines Law Center, UP College of Law

It was a sunny tuesday, the day i was supposed to enroll for the second semester in University of the Philippines Law Center for my Advance Review for the Bar Exams. But unfortunately, the cashier told me that they are no longer accepting personal checks as payment for any fees as per memorandum by the UP Administration. So, i was not able to enroll that day, i don’t have sufficient cash with me even if i will withdraw my remaining allowance. I decided to go back the next day right after i encashed the check of my brother Nelson in China Bank in Globe Telecom Plaza I.

The next day, I went in China Bank in Globe Telecom Plaza and encashed the cheque and then proceeded In University of the Philippines right after i had my lunch in KFC in Gateway Mall in Cubao. I was able to enrolled that day and received my Identification Card as well as the Review Materials that were already distributed to the reviewees. Tomorrow will be my first day to attend the class, and it will last until March of 2009.

after enrollment, I was supposed to go to my fraternity brod together with my other brods, but then i decided to just stay at home and study for my final examination in Taxation this coming sunday.

Commercial Law Review Final Exam

Insurance Law, Corporation Law, Transportation Law, Intellectual Property, Banking laws, Negotiable Instruments Law

After 4 days of review for my Commercial law Final Examination, the day finally came to test what i have learned in the whole semester. This is it, either you make it or break it.

Before the exam, Atty. Ericson Balmes made us filled-up our contracts. He also returned to us our Midterm Examination Result. Too sad, i got only 70% and the highest was 79%. Its a struggle to pass this subject, the final exam was not only long but it was also difficult. I Just hope I can get at least 75%, otherwise, i will fail the course.

This month is final Examinations month, its either you make it or brake it, cause at the end of this season every student in Law School just wanted to see a PASSED mark in their class cards (regardless of what the grade is, it doesn’t matter if it is 3.0 just as long as you passed the subject).

I went to my Taxation Review Class under Atty. Francis Sababan last Sunday, but before he conducted his class, he returned to us our midterm exams so that we can assess to our selves on how much effort should we exert on our upcoming final examination. He announced that only seven (7) out of 32 students passed his midterm exam. Of course everybody was nervous and hoping that they were one of those who passed. But before he distributed and broadcast the grade of each test booklets in the class, he announced that there is One Booklet that didn’t have a name on it, and that unnamed test booklet is one of those who PASSED!! (i undisclosed the grade).

The test Booklet was handed out to the class to determined who owned that Passed booklet, and when it reached my hand and open the first page, i just uttered “Sir, Akin po!” (MINE!), i didn’t know if I’m proud or subdued when i revealed it. Atty. Sababan just said PUT*****ng Ina, gawin mo sa BAR Exam yan! PATAY ka! (Something like that) (in his normal voice and character, nothing to get offended about)

I’m not expecting though that it would be easier for me to pass Taxation. To be honest this is my 2nd time to take this subject. Just like now, i did good in the midterm exam last semester, ranking no. 7 last time (out of 40+ students), and No. 5 this time (improving). But then, i failed last semester because i didn’t make it in the finals, even though i did well in my class-standing and midterm… Many students said, even those who already took the subject, that Atty. Sababan is a “finalist”, meaning, he only considers the final examination, he doesn’t care if you failed in the midterm as well as in the class standing (recitations) but as long as you passed his final exam, you will pass his subject.

So, i still have a week to prepare for his Final Examination. I hope this would be mylast time to take Taxation Review, but Taxation Pre-week for the Bar exam Instead.

See you in the Finals, Atty. Sababan!
